A Message to All From Daisempai
"We would like to thank all of Sensei Anderson's students in the Koguma Dojo for your continued dedication to our martial art, the energy you put into your training and the friendships we have developed with you all over the years. We are moving West but not moving out of your lives. Keep training, working and loving life and we promise to do the same as we move into this new chapter of our lives. We shall endeavor to create Koguma West and bring Sensei's incredible unique Goju-Ryu teaching to many new students. We especially thank Sensei David Anderson from the bottom of our hearts for all that he has brought into our lives and for the support he has shown us and our family. We love you Sensei!! We are proud to be Karate-Ka! We shall always practice and study.

BBQ for Daisempai Berger
Last night we had a BBQ (6/11/10) at my house to say "so long for now" to Daisempai Tony Berger and his family as the prepare to move to Davis CA next month. Sensei Anderson also took the opportunity to present Daisempai with his new Renshi belt, and Sensei Baker taught us how Master Taganashi used to break in a new belt. (It looks like a game of tug-of-war.) Here are a few photos, and I will post more on this site eventually, but if you'd like to see them all right now, please "friend" me on Facebook.

Congratulations to Mr. Williams and Renshi Berger
On Friday night (4/22/10) at Columbia University, Sensei Anderson promoted Curtis Williams to Shodan (1st degree black belt) and Daisempai Tony Berger was promoted to Renshi (5th degree black belt.) Congratulations to both of these fine martial artists on these well-deserved honors. I will eventually post all my photos to this site, but for now if you'd like to see all of them, please "friend" me on Facebook.
